Okay, so my science class was doing a lesson on genetics, and somehow we got onto the subject of MDA. We are current;y doing a fundraiser as a team for a scince grade. As part of the project grade, we had to write about a current event on MDA. On the site, I found an article about you, and I followed the link to this webpage. After I read the article, I looked you up on YouTube, and watched your video for 'When the Sun Goes Down.' Your hands move SO fast! Besides the fact that you are an amazing pianist, it's really cool what you're doing for MDA. Just want to thank you for supporting MDA and also giving me ideas for fundruasing for other diseases. ^_^

Alex, it's great what you're doing but you need to know CMT is NOT a 'form of Muscular Dystrophy'. It is a neuromuscular syndrome characterized by peripheral neuropathy in the feet and hands, causing muscle atropy, lack of balance and sensory function and fatigue. MUCH research is being done check out www.cmtushope.info and www.cmtausa.org for correct into on what CMT IS and isn't. Keep the music coming!

You are an inspiration! Thank you so much for sharing your story, and giving others the courage to be all they can be... I'll be back on here to buy the CD. I hope you are able to get your music sold at bookstores, coffee shops, everywhere. In face, I do believe that Dunn Brothers or Caribou (can't remember which; maybe Caribou) allows local people to display and sell their items at the location near you. Check it out. I'm sure they would be VERY willing to do it. I'm sure by now you've had lots of responses as far as how you can distribute the CD. Best of luck. I will be supporting, and forwarding your information to everyone I know.
Best of luck, and keep that talent going! (Can't believe you can play backwards and upside down!). We have 5 children, and 4 of them are taking piano lessons. The youngest is only 1 year old, so we will wait a little while for him! :)
Oh; I'm a graphic designer. If you need help, just let me know. I'd be honored to give you a hand.

One more thought after I sent my last note. More for your parents than you. Not sure if you watch the NBA on TV. The lead analyst on TNT basketball on TV is Ernie Johnson, Jr. You will see him alongside Charles Barkley on TV during games. He also has an adopted son from Russia and he came to find out that his son has Duchenne. I read an article in USA Today about him and actually picked up the phone and called TNT in Atlanta and he picked up the phone. Seemed like a nice guy and he does work with MDA too.

Hi, just saw your piece on Fox 9. Very nice story. Keep it up Alex. I lost my 15 year old son to Duchenne MD 4 months ago on October 6th, 2010. He was fighter too, just like you. Hang in there and thank you for your nice work with MDA. If you or your family would like to hear Bryan's story I would be more than happy to talk. BTW, I volunteered for a charity called Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy and we produced a CD all about songs related to MD, wheelchairs, DNA and it is all sung by kids. We sold it like you to raise money. It is more jazz and pop, but you might like. The writing and music was donated by some Broadway musicians.it is pretty cool. We actually got Kathy Lee Gifford to sing on it. If you would be intersted in hearing it let me know and I could find a copy. Our charity is www.parentprojectmd.org

Cool music Alex. I just checked some of it out at iTunes--how did you ever get your music on iTunes? That's really cool. You sound like a very talented individual. You should post pictures of your art on this page too. Your story is very inspiring. :)

Hi Alex
I just read the recent article about you in the Woodbury Bulletin. I live in Woodbury, and I am a mom of two daughters, but I had a brother who died at 16 from complications due to Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy. What you are doing, and the goal you have is awesome. I plan to buy your cd and tell all of our friends and family about it as well. I am also going to take my oldest daughter to your event at King of Kings next week. It is really important to me that my girls be informed about this disease. In a way, I feel that if they are educated about muscular dystrophy, they will be able to know and have a better undersanding of who my brother was. Again, what a wonderful thing you are doing. I am excited to meet you.

Thanks for writing Jacob. How are things going in TX? I play classical music, jazz and some of my original compositions. Classical is really great because it is the basis for most everything. Did you know to be good in jazz ya gotta study Bach??? Like he was the first jazz player! Amazing isn't it. That's your trivia for the day. Come back and visit again. Go to my blog any time. Are you ready to take on the Million Dollar Challenge? Will have info on Facebook and here soon.
